Dr. Thao Nguyen
Dr. Thao Nguyen was born and raised in Houston, TX. She earned her bachelor degree in Biology of Science and a minor in Business Entrepreneurship at the University of Houston. She then received her Doctorate of Optometry from Nova Southeastern College of Optometry. During her education, Dr. Nguyen received honors in pediatrics and found working with children to be extremely rewarding especially when she had the opportunity to work with the Special Olympics.
During her training, she learned to detect, manage, and treat an array of ocular diseases including glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye syndrome, macular degeneration, diabetic/hypertensive retinopathy, and corneal disease. Her special interests include primary care, pediatrics, myopia control, and co-management in refractive surgeries.
Dr. Nguyen is a therapeutic optometrist who has had a passion for optometry since a young age. Her mission is to provide quality eye care for her patients and create a space that is warm and welcoming to everyone. She is committed to providing service that goes beyond in the Friendswood community and surrounding areas.
She is a member of the Texas Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and Friendswood Chambers of Commerce.
In her free time, Dr. Nguyen loves to spend time with her family and friends. Traveling and making memories with her two children are her most favorite things to do outside of work.
Dr. Glendy Lau
Dr. Glendy Lau is passionate about helping her patients enjoy a lifetime of healthy vision through compassionate, personalized eye care. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the InterAmerican University School of Optometry in 2007 and went on to complete a residency in Ocular Diseases at The Ohio State University. Her advanced training allows her to diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions while providing comprehensive vision care for patients of all ages.
Since 2013, Dr. Lau has been proud to serve the Friendswood, Texas community. She believes that exceptional eye care begins with listening to her patients, understanding their individual needs, and taking the time to educate them about their eye health. Whether it’s a routine eye exam, managing ocular disease, or helping patients find the best vision solutions for their lifestyle, her goal is for every patient to feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their care.
What Dr. Lau enjoys most about optometry is the opportunity to build lasting relationships with her patients and their families. She values the trust her patients place in her and strives to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels cared for.
When she’s not in the office, Dr. Lau enjoys spending quality time with her family and traveling to new cities. She loves discovering local restaurants, exploring different cultures, and finding the unique experiences that make every destination memorable. Those experiences inspire her appreciation for people, lifelong learning, and the importance of seeing the world through a healthy pair of eyes.
